Carcharodontosaurus Tooth & Watercolour Illustration

£145.00

This Carcharodontosaurus Tooth has been displayed and elegantly mounted in a museum quality deep box frame, by our expert in-house team and is accompanied by a detailed sketch of this species.

Carcharodontosaurus is one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs known - comparable to the T. Rex. However, what really sets Carcharodontosaurus apart from other theropods was their fast running speed and their huge, serrated teeth. In fact, they are named Carcharodon after the scientific name for several types of shark - of which the great white shark is the only living example. These teeth were key to the hunting strategy of Carcharodontosaurus, as just a single ‬would create a massive open wound.‭ Shock and blood loss would quickly incapacitate the prey allowing Carcharodontosaurus to close in to finish it off.

Frame: Satin finished acrylic

Mount: 300 GSM acid free card stock with a 2 mm bevelled edge matboard border

Display: Self standing frame or wall hanging bracket

Dimensions: 16 x 16 x 6 cm
